IMG_4608The people of St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church sent us off today with each person’s hands upon us while Bishop Anne prayed for safe travel and a joyful reunion with our people there.  We were encircled by love.  We once offered to send the money that we would spend on airfare instead of coming ourselves.  We were told: “NO, by your coming they know they are not forgotten.”

This is a scene soon to be re-enacted.  Here we are greeted by some of the women of Ikowa Village which happens to be Moses’ village.  We are told they are preparing for us now.  Moses will take us shopping for goats, many having been purchased by YOU.  Paul Farmer once said:  “Lives of service depend on lives of support.”  We go for and with you!   Today I learned that someone has sent more money for a goat and she wants it named for me.  Wow! I’ve heard of a nanny goat but not a Tally goat.  Jessie definitely wants to name one Mary Magdalene.

The return to Tanzania has been a long time in coming.  There were a few bumps and detours in the road. The highway has been made straight.

Thanks be to God.
