It is always nice to “go home”.  Am enjoying being back in Connecticut, at my sister’s house, sleeping in my “childhood” bed, getting together with friends I grew up with.  Also, the weather here is wonderful!  Cool enough at night to sleep under the duvet with the windows open.

My sister’s house is in a lovely setting.  Big trees, not pine, oak, beech, spruce, hemlock.  Big and lovely.  She also has a beautiful lawn and garden which has been invaded by Woodchucks.  She had to resort to calling a trapper who got 5 Woodchucks the first day.  It was sad seeing them being carted off in “have-a-heart” traps.  The trapper lacks any PR ability as he told us he will kill them!  He could have said he would release them in the “wild”.  Of course, that is the problem, “the wild” is fast dissappearing around us.  They were eating everything, so had to go, but it was depressing.  Now the traps have racoons!  we tried to let them out, but they hissed so badly, that we backed off.  She will call the trapper.  The deer are so cheeky, they walk by grazing while we sit in lawn chairs watching.  There are still woods around her home, but over the years homes have been built and the animals loose their habitat.

Friday, I’ll take the ferry to Long Island, Saturday the show.  Finger’s crossed that it goes well.  Thank you Tally, for all your help packing and for caring for the dogs while I am gone.  Talk about a good friend!    Bye for now,  Jessie
